Unless this defeat against Friso Fennema, Alexeey Chizhov won the tournament in The Hague in 2001.

In a world championship it will be very different than in an ordinary summer tournament. Alexeey only trains seriously before world championships. He is now with his secondant Slava Chchogolyev in Puchchina near Moscow, where they train, train and train! It would be a big surprise if Alexeey won't be the worldchampion! (For the 11th time ...)

Alexeey's clubmates Jean-Marc Ndjofang and Kees Thijssen very well know that there is a big difference between their talent and knowledge of the game and Alexeey's , that's why they don't dare to play for two points against Chizhov.
